Microsoft Begins Rollout of Windows 11 Version 22H2
Microsoft has announced the start of the automatic update process for devices running Windows 11 version 21H2 to the latest feature update, Windows 11 version 22H2. The rollout will begin in a staggered manner, starting with devices that have been using version 21H2 the longest.
The reasoning behind this move is to ensure the security of consumers using a more recent version of Windows. Although version 21H2 of the OS is still supported until October 10, 2023, Microsoft is being proactive in updating devices.
Automatic updates work by downloading and installing feature updates on your device, with the option to restart the device at your convenience. If Microsoft detects any issues during the process, it will temporarily halt the update until the problem is resolved.
If you prefer to install the update now, you can go to the Windows Update section in the Settings app and check for updates. Microsoft claims that customer feedback for Windows 11 version 22H2 has been positive, but you can be the judge of that as well.
