Tiny11: A Lightweight Version of Windows 11 for Low-End Computers.
A new version of Windows 11, known as Tiny11, has been developed for computers with limited hardware resources. Unlike the official Windows 11 system, which requires a minimum of 4GB RAM and 64GB storage, Tiny11 can run smoothly on computers with just 2GB RAM and 8GB storage. This stripped-down version of Windows 11 is designed to work with older or less powerful computers.
Tiny11 is developed by independent developer NTDEV and is based on Windows 11 Pro 22H2. It features a number of changes to reduce the size of the operating system and optimize its performance on low-end computers. Windows system files are compressed, and many pre-installed apps have been removed, while essential apps like the Calculator, Camera, Windows Terminal and PowerShell, and the Windows Snipping Tool have been retained.
Tiny11 also removes the TPM 2.0 security requirement and the need for a minimum of 4GB RAM, making it compatible with most computers that run Windows 10. The operating system uses local accounts by default, but users can still opt for a Microsoft Account if needed. However, support for installing major operating system updates through Windows Update has been removed, and only security updates are supported. To install major Windows 11 updates, users will have to install a new build of Tiny11 when it becomes available.
Tiny11 is available for download from the Internet Archive and can be used as a simple way to run Windows 11 apps in a virtual machine without consuming too much RAM or storage. However, users should be cautious while using this modified version of Windows 11, which has been developed by an independent developer.
