I just got delivery of a Panasonic HDC-HS300 camcorder today and like to purchase a new battery for when i need to recode for more than 2 hours, the original Panasonic battery that cme the video camera costs about £90 to £180 for the 2 hours and 4 hours battery's, I have heard that its a bit risky buying non genuine ones an that Panasonic has try to stop sales of 3rd party battery's from sellers on eBay and other places, Is there anyone who has a Panasonic HDC HS 300? what battery's do you use? i would appreciate any help thank you!

I have searched the Internet for a spare battery for the Panasonic HDC-HS200 but there are none that actually list the Panasonic HDC HS 200 in the compatible list table.

The original battery number is a Panasonic VW-VBG130. I am looking for the larger version, Panasonic VW-VGB260.

Has anyone got a working 3rd party battery for the Panasonic HDC HS-200? Also if the battery is listed as compatible with other Panasonic HDC models will it work with the HDC-HS200?

I have been having another search online and it seems that the battery for the Panasonic HDC HS-300 or Panasonic HDC HS200 should actually be VW-VBD70/140/210 codes on the battery's, can somes who has the Pansonic TM/HS-200/300 please confirm the original battery code.

I would really appreciate it.

Hey i got a Panasonic HDC-HS100 and i know that they take the same battery, I have a warning beware of some fakes which are listed on Ebay as the new Panasonic bettery's do not accept the AC power.

However after looking around and doing a lot of leg work in the far east i have found replacements for the Panasonic original, I purchased 2 off them and they work like a dream, they do not show the battery power on the screen however they have a battery status on the battery itself, the battery's last about 1/2 hrs recording time from them and they are a replacement for the high capacity VBG260 which as an original will cost £160.

This is where i got them from:
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/2x-Battery-Charge ... 4146948e33

I have attached below the power spec sheet from the HDC-HS200 camcorder manual downloaded from the Panasonic website, The full manual is at the link below for you.

Just reading that two bigger Panasonic battery's may need the Panasonic VF-VH04-K Battery Pack Holder Kit for uses with Panasonic VF-VBG6-K Battery Pack, as the bigger batterys don't fit the HS/TM100/200/300 without it.

Most generic batterys or products are often made in same factories as official products, the PR spin about sub-standard safety standards is to cover the use of patent rights to to rip-off every consumers, how much do you think a battery chip should cost? and why should Panasonic be aloud to lock out other products not made by them.
