I'm thinking of buying some blank Verbatim DVD-R's and I came across 16x -R kind, I can choose between boxes of 25 and 50 pieces, The 25s are MIT, 50s are MII(India), Are there any diferences between and which are better? I will be using them on DVR-115L

Prodisc is sometimes not so great, but MBI MCC03RG20 can be terrible too, with PIE high over 100, Take the Taiwanese, if they are from Taiwan are Prodisc. You can see it from the LOOK <-> OPEN font. The CMC spindles uses a font which looks more like Times Roman.

Verbatim is slowly but surely going the way of all the other big brands before it, straight into the bogs, for the time being, you can avoid some of the deadly batches by sticking to the 50-paks and passing on the made in India marked packages, but sooner or later you'll get burned again, Verbatim has started to act real crappy on older laptop burners and many standalone DVD recorders, This week one of Verbatim's primary subcontractors in Taiwan declared bankruptcy and will exit disc production, that will pressure Verbatim to source more media from the mediocre factories, there is really no point anymore in checking media codes, the MCC code is no guarantee of quality, it could be sourced from a basement lab in Calcutta these days, The last good stock for many of us is good old TY 8x Japanese media, stock up on it while you can.
