 Post subject: Best MiniDV Transfering Camcorder

I was transferring my miniDV tapes when my camcorder broke. I have 50+ tapes I would still like to transfer to DVD and was wondering what is the best camcorder mechanically speaking. I don't care much about optics so if anybody repairs camcorders and can recommend a good model or brand. Also are mini DV decks comparable in cost to camcorders and would one be a better option? Thanks
